HistoryScience

The Daigo Fukuryū Maru (Lucky Dragon No. 5), exposed to fallout from the 1954 U.S. hydrogen bomb test at Bikini Atoll, was refitted in 1956 as the Tokyo University of Fisheries training ship Hayabusa Maru. This special exhibition traces the little-known history of the Hayabusa Maru and reflects on peace through the remarkable fate of a single ship.
