Paradise on Earth: Hangzhou and the Wuyue Kingdom — Faith and Beauty Across the Sea

A special exhibition on Hangzhou, celebrated as a paradise on earth, and the Wuyue Kingdom where Buddhist culture flourished. Through West Lake paintings, celadon, sutras and Buddhist sculpture, it follows how faith and art spread from Hangzhou across East Asia, including Japan. Some works rotate between the first and second halves.
