Permanent Exhibition: The Calligraphy and Painting of Nukina Suoh

Works by Nukina Suoh (1778-1863), counted among the three great calligraphers of the late Edo period. Born into a samurai family of the Awa domain in Tokushima, he studied calligraphy, Confucianism and medicine, deepened his study of Kukai's calligraphy at Mount Koya, taught at the Kaitokudo academy and later opened his own school in Kyoto.
