Special Exhibition: Sauropods — The Largest Creatures Ever to Walk the Earth

2026.07.10 〜 2026.11.03

Natural HistoryScience

A special exhibition devoted to sauropods, the largest animals ever to live on land. Built around the 19-metre skeleton of Xinjiangtitan as it was found in China, and drawing on specimens from Japan, China and Spain, it traces how these dinosaurs grew so large and what allowed their bodies to carry that weight. Highlights include the first public showing anywhere of the trackway fossil Iniestapodus, and sauropod fossils gathered from Japanese localities. Curator-led tours, lectures and museum seminars run through the exhibition period.
