70th Anniversary of Japan Antarctic Research: Photo Exhibition

画像提供:国立極地研究所

A summer exhibition marking 70 years of Japanese Antarctic research. More than 100 photographs are arranged as a timeline running from the first expedition, which set out in 1956, to the 67th team now wintering at Syowa Station — showing how the science developed, how observation equipment and clothing changed with the decades, and what daily life at the base was like. A stamp rally runs alongside it, displaying the emblems of all 67 expeditions, with two different logo stamps available each week. Admission free.
