Summer Exhibition: "You Can Be a Sailor Too"

A summer display on the work of carrying goods overseas by ship and on how trade by sea works, followed through quizzes and hands-on exhibits. It is aimed at primary and middle school children, though anyone is welcome. The museum itself is free to enter and introduces the workings of Hakata Port through models and panels, with permanent displays on cargo and passenger shipping, the making of Island City, navigation instruments, and the history of the port. Closed Wednesdays (the next weekday if Wednesday is a public holiday).
