Permanent Exhibition: Yamato Plaza, the History of Kure, Large Artefacts and Maritime Science

A museum of maritime history and science in Kure, a city shaped by its naval port and by shipbuilding and steel. At its centre, in the Yamato Plaza on the ground floor, stands a one-tenth scale model of the battleship Yamato, followed by the History of Kure, a hall of large original artefacts, and the science and technology gallery on the third floor, with further exhibits outdoors. The museum reopened after a major renovation that closed it until 23 April 2026; all permanent displays are now open.
